Marc Márquez delivered another signature performance at Misano, claiming his 11th win of the 2025 season and further extending his grip on the MotoGP title chase. Starting from fourth on the grid, he put in a patient but calculated race, moving up early, shadowing race-leader Marco Bezzecchi, and then waiting for the right moment.
Bezzecchi, who had taken pole position, led much of the early laps, putting in strong sector times and refusing to yield psychologically. But his run wide at Turn 8 on lap 12 opened the door for Márquez, who made the pass and seized the lead. Even then, Bezzecchi didn’t give up: in the final 10 laps he stayed close, pushing Márquez enough to force him to defend, and kept cutting into the gap with fastest laps of his own.
Behind the two frontrunners, Marc’s younger brother Álex Márquez rode a steady and safe race to secure third place, rounding off a strong result for Gresini Ducati. Fourth through sixth went to Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Fermín Aldeguer respectively, all of whom delivered solid rides though unable to match the frontrunners’ pace in the dying laps.
A few other noteworthy performances/events: Fabio Quartararo, riding the Yamaha, recovered from a mid-grid start to finish eighth, showing glimpses of speed but not quite enough to challenge for the podium. Meanwhile, wild-card rider Augusto Fernández tested Yamaha’s new V4-prototype in full race distance for the first time; despite a double long-lap penalty for jump-start and a rougher opening, he crossed the line in 14th, gathering valuable data.
This Misano win pushes Marc Márquez still closer to the championship. With only a few rounds left, his 25-point haul, combined with Bezzecchi’s runner-up, maintains a strong buffer in the standings and sets him up to possibly clinch the 2025 title as early as the next GP in Japan.
